PANO at the 2nd Meeting of the Social Psychology of Health Master & 1st Strategic Meeting Health for All
PANO was represented at the 2nd Meeting of the Social Psychology of Health Master & 1st Strategic Meeting Health for All - Health in Society: Research, Intervention and Policies in Portugal, that took place in ISCTE, Lisbon, on January 22. Together with Paulo Vitória, Rui Gaspar, João Carvalho e Ana Leonor Perdigão, Pedro Teixeira participated in a session titled "Perception of risk and health communication: What is the importance of social psychology of health in promoting healthy behaviors?".

Marlene Silva and Pedro Teixeira co-edited a special issue of the professional journal "Factores de Risco" (Risk Factors) entirely dedicated to the topic of obesity. The issue includes six articles authored by PANO researchers, all of which are available for download HERE.
NoHoW kick-off meeting
Between March 4-6, the kick-off meeting of the European project NoHoW (Evidence-based ICT Tools for Weight Loss Maintenance; H2020-PHC-2014 SEP-210140063) took place in London. Pedro Teixeira, António Palmeira and Inês Santos participated in the meeting of this project that, over the next five years, will test whether ICT-based delivery of theory- and evidence-based behavior change techniques can be effective for weight loss maintenance. PANO's research study conclusions in the journal Acta Médica Portuguesa
Between March 22-25, several online and print media and broadcast news delivered the conclusions of a PANO's research study. The study lead by Inês Santos, Ana Andrade and Pedro Teixeira, published in the journal Acta Médica Portuguesa concluded that more than half of Portuguese women and about one-third of men are actively trying to control their weight, using behavioral strategies which are generally consistent with public health recommendations. International Seminar on "Motivate Active Healthy Lifestyles: From Behavioral Science to Behavior Change and Self-regulation" at FMH
On March 24th, the Faculty of Human Kinetics - University of Lisbon (FMH-UL) hosted the International Seminar on "Motivate Active Healthy Lifestyles: From Behavioral Science to Behavior Change and Self-regulation", organized by the CIPER - Self-regulation Group (FMH-UL). The seminar brought together national and international experts on health behavior change science, featuring keynote presentations by Profs. Susan Michie and Robert West, among others. The seminar was attended by over 160 researchers, students, and professionals from across the country. More information HERE.
Marlene Silva and Hugo Pereira at EuroFIT meeting
On March 25, Marlene Silva and Hugo Pereira (on behalf of FMH) and representatives of FC Porto, SL Benfica and Sporting CP met in London with representatives of other participating clubs (e.g., Manchester City, Arsenal FC, PSV Eindhoven) for preparatory work of the EuroFIT project. The meeting, which took place at Emirates Stadium (Arsenal FC), aimed at setting the study timeline, discuss recruitment and implementation procedures, and plan the EuroFIT sessions and overall program.
