On June 16th, participants from the three portuguese clubs that delivered the EuroFIT program engaged in a walking football tournament at the National Stadium. The event also served as a reunion session, three months after the end of the program. More about this project HERE.

On June 30, the Faculty of Human Kinetics - University of Lisbon (FMH-UL) hosted the International Seminar on "Keep on Running: Exploring Running Behaviors in Individuals and Groups", organized by the CIPER | Self-Regulation Group. Pedro Teixeira was featured on an article in WIRED magazine. The article focuses on November Project, a free fitness movement present in multiple cities around the world, that motivates and encourage people of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels to exercise. An opinion article from Pedro Teixeira titled "Physical activity: a new vital sign of health" was recently published on PÚBLICO newspaper. The article focuses on the new Portuguese Physical Activity Promotion Program, in effect at the Directorate-General of Health (Health Ministry), and can be accessed HERE.

Marta Marques was appointed Executive Editor of the new open-access EHPS journal Health Psychology Bulletin. Health Psychology Bulletin is a disruptive open access journal that encourages full disclosure and explicitly welcomes both direct and conceptual replications, null findings, reports of failed manipulations, as well as empirical papers and reviews. CIPER | Self-Regulation Group was represented at the 2016 Annual Conference of the European Health Psychology Society and the British Psychology Society Division of Health Psychology in Aberdeen (August 23-27). Marta Marques participated with two presentations titled "Digital weight management lifestyle interventions in adults: systematic review of behaviour change theories and techniques" and "Motivation and behaviour change techniques based on self-determination theory: a consensus analysis". Marta Marques was elected Ordinary Member of the Executive Committee of the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS). The EHPS is a professional organisation formed to promote empirical and theoretical research in and applications of health psychology within Europe as well as the interchange of information related to health psychology with other associations throughout the world towards an international achievement of these aims.
