PANO was represented at the 11th National Conference on Health Psychology in Lisbon (January 26-29th). Pedro Teixeira presented the keynote lecture "Motivation and self-regulation in health behavior change". Marta Marques facilitated the pre-conference workshop on "Development and assessment of health behavior change interventions" and gave a talk entitled "Development of digital tools for long-term weight management: The NoHoW project" in a symposium targeting theoretically-based behavioral change interventions. Marlene Silva participated with a presentation on the EuroFIT project, as an example to illustrate how theory can be used to guide intervention development. EuroFIT featured on Euronews TV

NoHoW project meeting

António Palmeira and Marta Marques participated in the NoHoW project meeting, in Málaga (February 18-19). Preparations for the trial in the UK, Portugal and Denmark are now at an advanced stage. More information about the project HERE.

Between February 24-25, PANO researchers Pedro Teixeira and Marta Marques participated in the 2nd Behaviour Change Conference in London, UK. Marta Marques gave a presentation on "Designing evidence and theory-based ICT tools for weight loss maintenace: the H2020 NoHoW toolkit". More information about the conference HERE.

NoHoW at i9 Magazine

NoHoW was featured in i9 Magazine. Pedro Teixeira introduced the project that focus on the evidence around weight loss maintenance. More information HERE.

On April 27th, Marta Marques, together with Cristina Godinho (ISCTE; UCL), facilitated a workshop on "Development and assessment of health behavior change interventions". The event, promoted by the Portuguese Association of Health and Behavior Sciences, took place in ISCTE, Lisbon.

EuroFIT project meeting at Cascais

FMH hosted the last EuroFIT project meeting, that took place in Cascais, Portugal, 10-11 May. Randomised controlled trial of the EuroFIT program was discussed, as well as the replication of the program in new clubs and the adaption of the EuroFIT to other groups.

Pedro Teixeira was appointed Director for the Area of the Promotion of Physical Activity. This is one of the 11 priority areas of the National Health Plan, proposed by the Directorate-General of Health (DGS). More information HERE.

An invited commentary from Pedro Teixeira titled "Health behavior change: a field just picking up speed. A comment on Ogden (2016)" was recently published on Health Psychology Review, in relation to an editorial piece published by Jane Ogden, "Celebrating variability and a call to limit systematisation: the example of the Behaviour Change Technique Taxonomy and the Behaviour Change Wheel". Other experts also commented on Ogden's article.

Between June 2-5, CIPER | Self-Regulation researchers participated in the 6th International Conference on Self-Determination Theory in Victoria, Canada. More information about the conference HERE.
