EuroFIT consortium meeting
Marlene Silva and Hugo Pereira participated in the semestral EuroFIT consortium meeting, in Amsterdam (May 9-11). Project and data management, plans for the new pilot clubs and the future roll out licensing system were some of the topics under discussion. The code book for process evaluation on potential mechanisms of intervention impact (short and long term) was drafted with inputs from all participating countries based on qualitative data from interviews, focus groups and session observations. CIPER | Self-regulation was represented at the event “II Public Health Campaign: In the Prevention of Cardiovascular Risk Factors” that took place at the Faculty of Pharmacy – University of Lisbon, on May 2-3. Eliana Carraça gave a presentation on “Overweight and Obesity”, focusing their impact, prevalence and etiology, as well as the importance of physical activity in weight management. EuroFIT presented at the European Healthy Stadia Conference 2017
On April 27, Marlene N. Silva and Hugo Pereira participated in the European Healthy Stadia Conference 2017. The EuroFIT project was presented in the plenary session “Football, Health & Wellbeing”. Sally Wyke, Principal Investigator of the project, and João Brito, from the Portuguese Football Federation, discussed physical activity, sedentary time and weight loss interventions targeting football fans. Agreement towards the future dissemination of EuroFIT
In a public event on April 11, the Faculty of Human Kinetics - University of Lisbon (FMH - UL), the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), and the Directorate-General of Health (DGS) signed a formal partnership agreement towards the future dissemination of EuroFIT. EuroFIT tasting sessions at the "City of Football" (FPF)
Between February 20-22, EuroFIT tasting sessions were held at the "City of Football", the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) Headquarters. Football fans, FPF employees, and journalists had the opportunity to get to know the program and experience a typical EuroFIT session. Access the video HERE.

A pitch of the EuroFIT was presented addressing how the project development was framed to address two major problems in health promotion research and translation: Long-term sustainability of health-related behavioural changes and the scaling-up of research-based interventions, reaching a population impact.

This past weekend, on December 3rd, Pedro Teixeira presented the project Keep on Running: Exploring Running Behaviors in Individuals and Groups, on the VII Running International Congress. The congress was integrated in the activities of the National Program of March and Race, from the Athletics Portuguese Federation (PNMC), and co-promoted by the University of Lisbon (UL). Marlene Silva participated as a keynote in the Scientific Meeting of the Portuguese Society of Sport Psychology (November 24), discussing good practices in scaling up interventions from experimental settings. The EuroFIT program was used to illustrate several key issues and the potential role of football clubs and their resources as facilitators of health behavioral changes at the community level.
