Miguel Peralta
Miguel Peralta is a researcher at the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon. He holds a bachelor degree in Sport Sciences and master’s degrees’ in Physical Education and in Public Health by the National School of Public Health. Recently, he finished is PhD in Health Education at the Faculty of Human Kinetics with a work focused on the role of Physical Education for promoting health-related cardiorespiratory fitness. His research interests are focused on physical activity epidemiology and health promotion, having published several international peer-reviewed articles in this field.

On Wednesday 24th the CIPER series "Get to know CIPER senior researcher" featured Pedro Teixeira. The session was conducted as an interview format moderated by two researchers from the Self Regulation research group, Laura Carvalho and Jorge Encantado. The main topics were Pedro Teixeira's academic career, research interests and main achievements, providing relevant insights for early career and future researchers. With a lecture named “Can Psychedelics Improve Diet, Exercise, Meditation, and Weight Control?”, Pedro Teixeira was a presenter at the Insight 2021 conference in Berlin, organised by the MIND Foundation. This talk was based on the review article, “Psychedelics and health behaviour change”, published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology and recently covered by Lucid News.
