Paulo Martins

Research Associate
Paulo Martins is an Assistant Professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Human Kinetics and is the current vice-president of the Faculty of Human Kinetics. He holds Bachelor both Sport Sciences as well as in Psychology Sciences and Masters's degree both in Sport Education Management as well as in Clinical Psychology and a Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Psychology. He is also a member of the Portuguese Society of Sport Psychology and the president of FMH's Board of Assessment and Assurance for Quality. Between September 2016 and January 2018, he was the lead investigator of a Program With Institutionalized Youngsters from the General Directorate of Prison Services under the tutelage of the Ministry of Justice of Portugal (DGSP). His main research interests are the study of determinants of youth positive development, and the measuring of behavior change interventions under the teaching personal and social responsibility model. He has other scientific interests, namely psychometrics where he focuses on developing psychological measures, and also the topic of post-career in sport where he focuses on understanding the quality of life of this population. He also He has published more than 30 international peer-reviewed articles and has been an investigator collaborator in the Center for Research in Neuropsychology and Cognitive and Behavioral Intervention (CINEICC), Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Coimbra, Portugal and APPsy-CI, Applied Psychology Research Center, Capabilities & Inclusion ISPA—University Institute of Psychological, Social and Life Sciences, Portugal.
