The PANO Research Group was represented at the 18th Portuguese Congress on Obesity (SPEO) in Aveiro, Portugal (October 24-26). Eliana Carraça was invited to present a talk entitled "Is the evaluation of a patient's readiness to change important to help them losing weight?", as part of a Symposium on "Myths & Facts" in the context of weight management. The aim of this meeting was to stimulate discussion and debate of the available evidence on pretreatment psychosocial predictors of successful weight control, reflecting upon its implications to the assessment and design of future interventions in the context of behavioral weight management.
